Bachelor of science in mechanical engineering from University of Colorado, 1953; master of science in aerospace science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, 1965; master of business administration from the University of Hartford, 1967; three honorary doctorate degrees; fighter pilot, USAF, in Japan and Korea; test pilot Massachusetts and Connecticut Air National Guard; unsuccessful application for NASA astronaut group 2 and group 3; from 1973 - 1977 executive director of the Committee on Science and Technology in the U.S. House of Representatives; was selected for the U.S. House of Representatives, but a week before he would have taken this seat in Congress he died on complications of cancer; hobbies: Golf, handball, bowling, skiing, swimming, basketball, photography.
