Flights

Launch from Baikonur; landing 200 km southeast of Dzheskasgan. Testflight of the new developed Soyuz-T-spacecraft. Six unmanned spacecraft had been tested before. Successful docking on Salyut 6 spacestation and common work with the fourth resident crew.

The main goal of this flight was the testing and development of on-board systems in the improved Soyuz T series transport vehicle under piloted conditions. The final approach to the station was to make manual, because the new developed Argon computer committed a guidance control error.

Maintenance work on the station was done after docking. New tools were brought to the station und science material was taken back to Earth. After separation inspection flight around the spacestation.
