Expedition Report

Launch from Baikonur; landing 42 km south of
Arkalyk in Kazakhstan. ISS expedition 7; "caretaker" crew. Following a two day solo flight the Soyuz docked to ISS on 28.04.2003. Malenchenko and Lu replaced the Expedition 6 crew. Only 15 experiments on different scientific fields. Periodic maintenance work (for example the station's toilet system, windows, spacesuits and more), upgrade work, training for spacewalks, although no spacewalk was planned. The cargo ship Progress 11 docked with the station in June and Progress 12 in August with food, fuel, water, supplies and scientific gear, which had to be stowed. |
